As well as LSA highlights for the past year, this year's report contains a summary of the carbon footprint results of a record 59 reporting firms. The Annex to the report contains the individual footprints of each reporting firm. It’s been a decade since the Prince of Wales hosted his May Day Summit at which he challenged the business community, including the legal sector, to rise the challenge of climate change. This seminal event saw the birth of the Legal Sector (now Sustainability) Alliance. 10 years on and the LSA is still working hard to support law firms and others in the legal profession to measure, manage and reduce their carbon footprint and increase their sustainability. The LSA's Australian partner AusLSA has launched the latest of its annual sustainability reports. The Scope of the 2016 Legal Sector Sustainability Insight has tripled this year to addresses the legal sector’s most material impacts under the categories of; Our People, Our Community, Our Environment and Governance. The addition of these categories better align with the Global Reporting Index approach and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
