LSA Research Project: Do clients care about CSR when engaging law firms?

One of the most striking changes in the legal profession over the last four decades is the shift in the balance of power between lawyers and their clients… in favour of the clients. In his blog, Dr Steven Vaughan from University of Birmingham’s Law School explains why he thinks this is.

Thank you to all who have helped us so far with our research by answering a few questions.

We are now moving into the second stage of our research being conducted on behalf of the LSA by the University of Birmingham Law School into the client-side drivers for sustainability – i.e. what sustainability issues make a client chose a law firm as their external legal advisor.  This stage involves a short (approx 15 minutes) telephone interview conducted by an experienced researcher. We are anxious to hear from across all areas of the firm, not just those directly involved in environmental practice.

If any LSA member is able to spare time for an interview that would be a great help – please contact us.
